While still in Springfield High School, his teacher of English complimented him on a poem that he penned earlier and commended on its possible publication. Clements opines that he liked brainstorming sessions together with his pupils and students. Thereafter, Andrew Clements had a seven-year long teaching stint in Chicago schools Clements taught fourth graders, eight graders, and high school students. For his postgraduate education, Clements enrolled at the Chicago-based National Louis University whereby he received his Master’s in Teaching degree. For his undergraduate studies, Clements attended the Evanston-based Northwestern University wherein he majored in literature and later on received his bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Presently, Clements is domiciled in Maine.įor his O levels, Andrew Clements went to Springfield High School. Clements’ parents were bibliophiles and instilled in him the urge to read. Thereafter, Clements’ family relocated from New Jersey to Springfield upon Illinois. ![]() In his early age, Andrew Clements resided in Cherry Hill and Oaklyn, a township and borough in New Jersey, respectively, till he was a sixth grader. ![]()

Taylor attended Auburn University Montgomery for his undergraduate studies, and then joined a graduate biochemistry program, and after leaving in 2016 began a career in creative writing. Part of Taylor's upbringing was spent in a very religious, conservative Baptist setting. Taylor was born in Prattville, Alabama, and grew up in a small community outside Montgomery. In 2022, Taylor's Filthy Animals won The Story Prize awarded annually to collections of short fiction. His debut novel, Real Life, came out in 2020 and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. His short stories and essays have been published in many outlets and have received critical acclaim. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Iowa and has received several fellowships for his writing. George Louis Palmella Busson du Maurier (1834-1896) was a well-known illustrator and novelist. Also included are papers relating to Sylvia du Maurier (sister to Gerald), Guy du Maurier (brother to Gerald) and Angela du Maurier (sister to Daphne), as well as to many other lesser-known family members. The family members represented in this collection include Louise Wallace (paternal aunt of George du Maurier), George du Maurier (illustrator, cartoonist and novelist), his son Gerald du Maurier (actor and manager) and his grand-daughter Daphne du Maurier (writer). The du Maurier family have a fascinating history, with many of its members leading distinguished and well-documented careers.
